【妖怪説明】
宮城県鳴子町(現・大崎市)川渡地区に伝わる。
赤沼と呼ばれる水が赤く濁っている沼に住んでいた大河童で、身丈九尺ばかりで全身が青く頭に皿があり顎や背中に甲羅がある。この河童に引きずり込まれた牛馬や人の血で沼の水が赤いのだと言われた。

「顎と背中に甲羅を背負い　血潮で沼面を染め上げる」

【AKANUMAKAPPA】
It is transmitted to Naruko town in Miyagi prefecture. The kappa lived in a swamp whose water was red and cloudy. Height is about 270cm. The whole body is blue with a dish on the head and a shell on the chin and back. It was said that the water of the swamp was red with the blood of a cow and horse dragged by this kappa.
