【妖怪説明】
ウナリサカカワウソノオオニュウドウ。宮城県仙台市青葉区荒巻伊勢堂山に伝わる。

仙台城下の荒巻伊勢堂山の坂道は巨岩奇石が起伏した薄気味悪い場所であり、ここにある大岩の一つが毎夜唸り声をあげるという噂が立った。強がりの連中がやって来ることもあったが、岩を叩いたりすると唸り声がさらに大きくなり、終いには雲を突く大入道となって割れ鐘のような声をあげるので、やがて退治に行く者もいなくなった。
この事が藩主伊達政宗の耳にも届いた。政宗は、侍臣に命じて正体を確かめさせようとしたが、翌日には顔を青くした侍臣たちが、噂は本当であり自分たちではどうすることもできないと戻ってきたので、ついに政宗自らが大入道の正体を見届けようと現場に赴くことになった。
政宗が坂を訪れると、いつもの倍はあろうかという大入道が現れた。しかし、政宗は恐れることなく、大入道の足元を狙って矢を放つと物凄い叫び声とともに大入道は元の岩の姿に戻った。その後、辺りを捜索したところ、少し離れた岩と岩の間に、脛節を矢で射抜かれた子牛ほどの大きさの獺が苦しんでいたのでこれが正体だと分かった。それ以来この坂を唸り坂と呼ぶようになった。

「城下に雲突く唸りがあれば　獺射抜きし独眼竜」

【UNARISAKA-KAWAUSONO-OONYUDO ~A Giant by Roaring slope otter~ 】
Introduced to Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.
There was a creepy slope with many stones near Sendai Castle. There was a rumor that one of the rocks here was roaring every night. When the strong man hit the rock, the voice of the rock became louder and he became a giant reaching the cloud, screaming like a bell.
Masamune Date, the lord, heard this. He ordered his servants to verify their identity. But no one could solve it.
Masamune headed for the slope. The giant has become twice as big as usual. However, Masamune is not afraid. He shot an arrow at the feet of the giant. The giant screamed and returned to its original rock form. After that, when they searched around, there was a large otter whose foot was shot with an arrow. Since then, this slope has come to be called a Unerizaka(roaring slope).
