【妖怪説明】
アイヌ語で「淫乱の神」や「淫魔」を意味する。普段は異界のシュシュランペツという川のほとりにおり、裸で男女で踊っているという。ときおり人間界にきて踊りの仲間へと誘惑したり、人間にとり憑き浮気させたりする。なおすときはぶん殴ったり、川に投げ込んだりするらしい。
また、北海道の石狩川上流のパウチが作った砦といわれる層雲峡（パウチ・チャシ、パウチカ・コタン）周辺に伝わる伝説では、舟人をたぶらかす女神とされカムイオッペカウシ（神が淫部をさらけ出すところ）とよばれる崖で盗賊の一団を誘惑して死に追いやったとも言われる。

「歌い踊りて忘れてしまへ　偶さか逢瀬も夢と消ゆ」

【PAUCHI】
In the Ainu language, it means "Nasty God" or "Nympho". They are on the banks of a river in a different world, dancing naked in men and women. Occasionally he comes to the human world and seduces him to dance companions or possesses and cheats on humans. They seem to hit or throw them into the river.
In the Ishikari River in Hokkaido, it is said to be a goddess who rapes boatmen. She is allegedly seduced by a band of bandits to death.
